I want to hide #N/A whenever it appears on a spreadsheet - appears from vlookup calculations. Any ideas?

Conditional formating, formula is =ISERROR(#N/A)
format background and font to white. that will hide it, But I think you should be asking what is causing it, and how to get rid of it.

Hi thanks for your reply.

I did try conditional formatting previously without iserror but neither method seems to work anyway.

The error is generated from a vlookup formul and comes about because of the fourth argument, i just want to hide n/a from the screen

Can you help?

In cond. format, choose formula is

=ISNA(A1)

Where A1 is the cell with the error; format the font = the background color.

You could try something like this and change to suit

=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP($B8,'sheet'!$A:$J,2,0)),0,(VLOOKUP($B8,'sheet'!$A:$J,2,0)))
