Hi all,

Maybe somebody can help.

I'm a bit puzzled with this:

Values in cells of my_named_range:
1
2
3
4
5

Formula in another cell:
=max(my_named_range)

Formula result:
5

Easy so far, what I'm trying to get now is a formula to get the second highest value (4)
but I don't seem to find the way unless I use either a macro or some more cells feeding from this range (where the value is != than the highest (5))

Any ideas?

Thanks guys!

Regards,
Leo

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Have a look at the large function:

=large(my_named_range,2)

But note that if there are two 5's in your data it will return 5 as the second largest number as well. Not sure what you are exactly after?

Hope that helps.
