Highlight based on a formula, but not conditional formatting

In a spreadsheet I have a formula that conditionally formats dates that are within the next 90 days to highlight {<=(TODAY()+90)}. My problem is the last thing I have to do to the sheet is turn those date formulas to text so that another macro works properly to limit them, and as soon as I convert them to text the conditionally formatting no longer works. I would like VBA code that will highlight the cell red if it meets the criteria <=(TODAY()+90) instead of conditionally formatting that.

Additional info: I am trying to apply it to G12:G30000. If the cell is blank, I do not want it to highlight.
