Hi

i wonder if this requires conditional formatting? but i want to highlight a cell a colour based on the characters is in the middle of the text.

the text could be - 0102ES12345 or 0102GB12345

i want to highlight the "ES" text cell one colour and leave the "GB" cells.

thanks

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
You could use something like
Excel Formula:
=mid(A2,5,2)="ES"
in conditional formatting.

Solution
Point to Highlight Cells Rules, and then click Text that Contains.

Do you need something different than this?
