how can I compare two cells, and show the difference

E.g.

A1 = ABC1357a
A2 = ABC1357b

the difference is "a" and "b", can a result show that "a" and "b" in the different, or at least state there is not an exact match?

Will tell you there is a difference, it would be much more complex to build something to show exactly what is different.
