How can I conditionally format an entire row if it meets the condition in a certain cel.

Such as If Cel F5=Complete then strike out text of entire row(or range of row) and shade it grey. I can get my dates to format correctly if they are greater than or less than a certain range, but I'm making a project tracker and if the project becomes complete, I want to strike through the text and shade the project grey. I've looked on several of the answers posted in this forum and none of the solutions have worked for me. I'm working in Excel 2007. I've copied a portion of the workbook to this file in order to help.

Not everything I do at work revolves around Excel. Only the fun parts.
I did try that and entered =$F5=Completed (then followed the instructions and selected my formatting) and it didn't work. Any other suggestions? Does the word Completed need to be in any certain form. Right now its in a drop down list, would that give any reason for not working correctly? I went and formatted the cel that the drop down list appears to 'text' because it was 'general', but I have no idea if that made a difference. But I know the =$F5=Completed didn't work. I'm open to suggestion and also downloaded the examples to see if they'd help...they didn't but great examples for other things I might do.

In your original post it was Complete. Your last post used Completed. This makes a (big) difference.

I also tried =$F5="Completed" (then followed the instructions and selected my formatting) and it didn't work

I changed the drop down list cels from 'general' to 'text' formatted cels and it had no effect.

What I'd like it to do is if Completed is the condition met, then shade the entire row and strike out all text in that row in which Completed appears in. Hence if the project reaches completion by virtue of that cel being flipped to Completed in the drop down list, then shade the whole row and strike out all text in that row.

In my original post I posted a link to what the worksheet looks like, well, the top left portion of the worksheet where I'm trying to make this work.

Works here. Make sure the value is actually "Completed" not " Completed" or "Completed " etc.

CDEFGHIJ
5Completed
6Not completed

I just copied what you did exactly off of the forum here and it worked. I don't understand how I can type the same exact thing myself (not cut and paste) and it doesn't work. Murphy's law I guess. Thanks!

What a relief on the format thing...now...Do you want to help me figure out another thing? Its the last thing I don't know how to do.

I need a Project Master sheet, in a sense the first sheet they'll see with ALL the projects on the same sheet that populates from the other projects as they're entered (so I want it to auto populate exactly as you see it on the 14 other tabs).

I will also be doing a pivot table (which is something that was requested and I DO know how to do) but that doesn't satisfy yet another request for an all-in-one Master Sheet.

Any good ideas?
