I am trying to use Excel 2000 to display full screen .mpeg, .avi etc. movie clips, and .jpg, .bmp etc. images, I use a macro to return all the files in a folder on the desktop, and list them in a column, and then sort them to give a random play order. I have added an ActiveX mediaplayer to the worksheet, and the macro opens the files in turn, if a movie is played, the EndOfStream event causes the next file to be opened, if an image is opened, it is displayed for a set time before the next file is opened.
Now the problem, I want to be able to interrupt the macro and move on to the next file by pressing a designated cancel key, I can do this using OnKey, if a movie file is playing, but I can’t figure out how to interrupt the timer if a still image is opened. Any ideas gratefully received.
