The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.

the link is to a site that lets you download the spreadsheet that drives the dashboard. It is free or $39 if you want to use it at work - look at the chart ranges etc behind the dashboard - there are other free sites with dashboards I look for a link for you
