How can I stop Excel from converting #/# to a date? I use excel to track stats for my baseball fantasy league. When I copy and paste the players stats from the previous days game the hits/atBat gets converted to a date and I have to go back, format the cells as text, look the data back up and manually enter it. Formatting the column to text before I paste doesn't help either.
Here is an example of what I'm running into:
First I copy the players stats. Here is the data I am copying:
H/AB R H HR RBI SB AVG
Alex Rodriguez 1/4 1 1 1 3 0 .250
When I paste this into Excel this is what I get:
Alex Rodriguez 4-Jan 1 1 1 3 0 .250
I then have to reformat the column to text, look up the correct data and manually enter it.
Do this for 30 players and it quickly becomes a real annoyance.
I need to stop Excel from converting the H/AB to a date.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
