I have the following details relating to the start and end dates of a contract. My fiscal year runs 01/04 to 31/03 so FY24 will run from 01/04/23 to 31/03/24. What I need to know is how many months a contract has in each fiscal year?

I've tried the following formula in my file which isn't working? =IFERROR(DATEDIF(MAX($L36,EDATE($M36,-12)),MIN($M36,Y$13),"m"),0)

What am I missing?

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Depends when it starts/finishes.

If a contract starts 1/01/24 and runs until 31/12/24 then that should show as 3 months in FY24 and 9 months in FY25.

Make sense?
