is there a limit when linking to an access table? typically spreadsheets have 65536 or something.... i have an access database with 80,000 odd records can i make a pivot table in excel and link to those records?

thanks

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
You should be able to make the pivot table.

It should summarize the data to return less than the 80,000 rows, if you set the fields as you want them.

If you have problems then why not create a query in Access to summarize the data and then import that into Excel.

In fact you could create a crosstab quesry in Access which is the equivalent to a pivot table.
