In column A, I have some text:
Hello good day.mp3
Hello good day.flac
etc.

I'd like to capitalize everything before the period. I don't need the file extension capitalized.

I have a feeling that I need to combine the PROPER function with the FIND function but I'm struggling to find the right formula. I'm lost. :(

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Peter_SSs, that worked. I appreciate the help!
I am still wondering what the "rule" that I asked you about in Message #18 is. On the second "rule" question I asked, I was thinking about names like DreamWorks, SportsZone, CompuServe, etc.
