Hi I have a spreadsheet with a file size column (column C) like this:

3,2 GB
107 KB
290 KB
190 KB
167 KB
1,9 GB
5 KB
122,0 MB

I would like to be able to sum all of this data, in GB, but I guess first I need to find a way to standardise all the measurements. Does anyone know of some formulas that would be able to do this?

Thanks so much...

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
You might need to change parameter delimiters due to different regional settings. From semicolons to comma's

Excel Formula:
=SUM(--LEFT(A1:A8;SEARCH(" ";A1:A8)-1)/--SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(MID(A1:A8;SEARCH(" ";A1:A8)+1;99);"GB";1);"MB";10^3);"KB";10^6))
