Hi,

I have a word document, and the formatting is such that I wanted to include this in excel.

How do I embedd the word document in an excel cell? I don't want to link to the word document using hyperlink.

Thanks

EDIT:
I figured out how to insert a word object. Using the ribbon "insert->Object->word document (non macro)"

But how do I hide this in a single cell. This is what I ultimately want to do. Becuase the object takes up too much space.

Hi there

To embed a Word document into an Excel cell, you can follow these steps:

  1. Click on the cell where you want to insert the Word document.
  2. Click on the "Insert" tab in the ribbon at the top of the Excel window.
  3. Click on the "Object" button in the "Text" section of the ribbon.
  4. In the "Object" dialog box that appears, select the "Create from File" tab.
  5. Click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the Word document that you want to embed.
  6. Select the Word document and click on the "Insert" button.
  7. In the "Object" dialog box, select the "Display as icon" checkbox.
  8. Optionally, you can change the icon by clicking on the "Change Icon" button.
  9. Click on the "OK" button to close the "Object" dialog box.
The Word document will now be embedded in the Excel cell as an icon. Double-clicking on the icon will open the Word document. You can resize the cell to make the icon smaller, but you cannot hide the icon in a single cell completely. If you need to hide the icon, you can resize the cell to make it very small or move it to a different sheet or a hidden column.
