Hi every body,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I have numbers from 40000 To 49999 in Column: A. what I want to filter only those numbers, which contain these three digits 423. (That means 4,2 And 3 as per order)<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
For example: Some filtered numbers will be as follow which all containing chain of digit 423<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
40230<o:p></o:p>
41230<o:p></o:p>
42300 <o:p></o:p>
42320<o:p></o:p>
44234<o:p></o:p>
44423<o:p></o:p>
45239<o:p></o:p>

I didnt know that is possible to use multiple wild characters (*) inside the string. Always learning! :)

In some languages is possible to use patterns. I searched the internet but could not find anything about it and VBA. Do you know where can i find something?

Hi Marcelo

2 options:

1 - for simple patterns use the Like operator. For example, to test if the string s has at least 2 digits:

2 - for complex patterns you can use Regular Expressions. RegEx's are a very flexible and powerful tool for string pattern recognition.
