How to generate a particular formula, rather than type it/copy down each month, please?

I have a workbook with the 12 months, ie Jan, Feb, Mar etc on their own worksheet. I'm in the process of making a template of this workbook for future years

I want to enter the formula " =IF(Feb!C103=0,"",Feb!C103) " into the cells that have been over-written but I can't remember how I generated it. Would I have merely typed it out, then copied/pulled it down or is there an easier way to do this, please? I did try typing it into the relevant cell but it just appeared as typed text and not an 'invisible' formula which it is on the 2019 sheet

Some of the cells in some of the month sheets still hold the formula so I can just copy it up/down on that particular sheet/s. However, in some of the worksheets, the formula has been over-written without any remaining to copy up/down.

I can't remember how I inserted this formula so I'm hoping someone can help me out?

Many thanks for any help

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.

Is this activated?

Hi cyrilbrd
Thanks for your response
No, Show Formula isn't activated. I don't see any of the other forumulas that I have within the sheet

Have you simply tried retyping that formula into the first call and then filling it down the column in the Feb sheet, then repeating the process in Mar03, etc. as needed?

Hi kweaver

Yes, I tried that on two different computers and it wouldn't work
Perhaps I should try copy/pasting and changing the cell refs

Any idea how I might have generated this in the first place? I must have got it from somewhere but I just can't remember

Thanks

Must get to bed - 1am here. Will check back in the morning ;)

No idea how you created it if you claim you didn't type it. When you say it "didn't work" was there an error or what?

I didn't get any error. I knew it wasn't working as it just showed in the cell, didn't show the name from the same cell from worksheet before, ie didn't display 'Fred' in cell C24 on Feb sheet from Cell 24 on January sheet.

However, I hunted a formula down and copied it, from a cell that hadn't been overwritten. Then, using the bottom right + dragged it up, across and down to fill the relevant cells. I have been lucky enough to hunt down a formula in each of the months so have now got formular in all the sheets.

This is great, of course. Perhaps I did type this formula in the first place but it will have been from a MrExcel member originally (thanks mate but, unfortunately, can't remember who you are)

So, I think I have to accept I must have been typing incorrectly, even though I thought I was being very careful. For now, this issue is solved.

Many thanks to you all for your help and support. It's been very much appreciated :)

Having just looked back on previous posts, I believe it may well have been @skywriter - so credit for him for helping me at that time. Unfortunately, there seem to be parts of the posts missing, probably the formula, maybe.

Anyway, thanks to you all

The only way I can imagine a formula showing in a cell is because there is a space before the equal symbol.

Or the cell format maybe set to Text.
