How to generate a return based on 2 columns (using IF, AND, OR?)

So, I have column 1 which has a dropdown of 6 values (i.e. 1-Very small, 2-Small) etc... and column 2 which has 6 different potential dropdown (i.e. 1-Simple, 2-Low Complexity) etc..

The user would select one in each column and i would like column 3 to then have a formula to work out a score (this is based on a 6x6 table matrix). For example, If Col1 is 1,2 or 3 AND col 2 is 1 or 2, then the value would bve "S1". If col1 was 3 and col 2 is 3 then it would be "s2" etc...

Cannot work out how to do this

You can use Nested IF statements as shown here: IF function – nested formulas and avoiding pitfalls - Microsoft Support

So, if your column 1 value is in cell A2 and your column 2 value is in cell B2, your formula might start something like:

=IF(AND((LEFT(A2,1)+0)<=3,(LEFT(B2,1)+0)<=2),"S1",IF(AND(LEFT(A2,1)="3",LEFT(B2,1)="3"),"S2","etc"))

I have colored coded the formula to show that blue is your first condition, red is your second, and you keep going on with that.
