How To Highlight Cells in a Pivot Table Based on Values from Another Field

I have a data set where certain values of my results field are 'flagged' in an adjacent field. I'm using a Pivot Table to organize the raw data, and I need these 'flags' to carry over - ie some indication that a given cell in the Pivot Table has been flagged (either highlighted or bold/italics). Is there an easy way to do this?

I've tried using the 'flag' field as a filter, highlighting those cells, then removing the filter, but the highlighting disappears. Also, I can't add a note to the actual results (ie 3*) because then it becomes a text field.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
