how to remove banding in excel

On occasion when I export to Excel from a specific program I receive the export with banding that I do not want. How can I remove this banding?
I am running Excel 2013

Select the cells & format cells -> fill -> no color

I tried this before I posted, the alternate row banding remains.

found the answer, with all selected then under conditional formatting & clear rules & clear rules from entire sheet --> this did the trick

I didn't expect the program to export and add conditional formatting.
