Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove a negative sign from a value in excel using a custom number format? This value would need to appear and treated as a positive number. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
Welcome to the board.

You can't do it with a format..
Formats only change the appearance of the value, they do not effect the actual value of the cell. So it would not be "Treated" as positive.

You'll have to use a formula to convert negatives to positive...
Try ABS

=ABS(A1)

Hope that helps.
