I have some charts that I want to expand with more data, 24 months instead of 12. I did this, and now I want to make the chart wider. I can change the width of the chart easily, just dragging the right side, but the plot area does not get wider.

I cannot find any options to change the width of the plot area. I would prefer not to resort to VBA. Are there any controls somewhere I am missing?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
It had something to do with the chart type, 3D stacked. I changed it to stacked, then was able to drag the plot area wider. When I changed it back to 3D stacked, it shrunk, but it was wider than it was in the beginning.
