How to return everything after certain character

I need help on something that I hope is a fairly easy mid statement for you all. I have a bunch of records that are in this format

Then in another spreadsheet I have records in this format

So how could i write a quick mid statement that would return everything after the fourth \ character in the first line and then everything after the fifth \ character in the second line. Eventually I would then run a vlookup to match up the two lines (unless there is an easier way to try to match them up).



I can't do a find and replace because the contents are all different for each line.

listings, first one has 93K records, second one has 14K). Below is an example of each that match up on each other (found them manually)

C:\user\joesmith\laptop\office\downloads\02.21.2011

and

\DL_0134\network\archive\dc\office\downloads\02.21.2011

What’s the best way to automate this so I can find matches. You can see that everything after the fourth \ in the first line matches up to everything after the fifth \ in the second line. Is there a fast way to do this (I don’t think it will consistently be everything after the fourth \ will match up to everything after the fifth \ which might make it more difficult.

Thanks, the only issue is that entire string could change (so office might not even be part of another records, etc). For example another line could be

D:\sharp\manchester\cars\blue\03.22.2011

and the one part of another data set which I found manually that matches is

DL_044\sony\liverpool\apple\mac\cars\blue\03.22.2011

they both end up matching on

cars\blue\03.22.2011
