I've tried sheets().select and sheets().activate but when I try to take values from sheet two they still read from sheet 1.
Code:
b = Application.Min(Range(Cells(Z, p), Cells(Z, p)))

when I try worksheets("sheet2") within the above code it return an error message so I am well and truly puzzled and would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this for me please.

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
Try:

Code:
With Worksheets("Sheet2")
    b = Application.Min(.Range(.Cells(Z, p), .Cells(Z, p)))
End With

You need to qualify both the Range and the Cells properties.
