Hello,

I have a process where a new spreadsheet is downloaded daily with columns A through AI. Column 'D' indicates a project status of APPROVED, Pending or not approved. If the project is approved that cell needs to be GREEN. In column 'F' there is an associated project number. The color of cell is based on color coding from the previous day. I am struggling with pulling over conditional formatting using Format Painter and/or creating a formula to transfer color only (not text/values) from Column 'F' previous days spreadsheet to to my new daily spreadsheet. I'm chasing my tail on this and cannot find a concrete solution that works repeatedly (daily).

Attempted to load image but kept saying it was too large.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Hi Lesley

Welcome to Mr Excel Forum

I don't know if I understand your problem correctly.
Just an idea
Couldn't you use an auxiliary sheet to store the relevant values (colors, values or anything else you need to format the new spreadsheet)?
Having these values stored in the auxiliary sheet perhaps a macro that uses those values can properly format the new worksheet.
And, again, the relevant values would be stored in the auxiliary sheet to be used the next day.
As i said, just an idea...
