please tell me the way to transfer data from flat file to excel sheet

Any help is greatly needed and appreciated!

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
You should be able to open the file in Excel by choosing Files of Type "Text Files". If your file is not one of thes types choose "All Files".

Excel will show the Text Import Wizard to guide you through the process.

i tried in this way but it says me that file type is invalid.
Is there any way to transfer data from flat file to excel using MACROS
