My first time trying to use GETPIVOTDATA() in a VBA macro failed. Application.Worksheet.GetPivotData does not even seem to exist as a function in the Worksheet Object.

Does anyone know how to use GetPivotData function from VB?

thanks

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Should be something like this:<pre>Sub T()
Dim PT As PivotTable
Set PT = Sheet1.PivotTables(1)

MsgBox PT.GetPivotData("DataField", "Field1", "Item1", "Field2", "Item2").Value
End Sub</pre>

Look on the Help for the valid structure, and required parameters.

This is the example I have available on the Help files:

<pre>Sub UseGetPivotData()

Dim rngTableItem As Range

' Get PivotData for the quantity of chairs in the warehouse.
Set rngTableItem = ActiveCell. _
PivotTable.GetPivotData("Quantity", "Warehouse", "Chairs")

MsgBox "The quantity of chairs in the warehouse is: " & rngTableItem.Value

End Sub</pre>
