INDEX Reference Question

Hello,

I'm having some trouble determining what all the parts of the INDEX reference below means. My formula reads as follows:

=INDEX('H:\Supervision\ALD\Log_Sheet.xls'!Production,2192+1,1)

I know that the H:\Supervision\ALD\Log_Sheet.xls refers to the Log_Sheet.xls workbook saved on a network drive at H > Supervision > ALD. The 2192 is a precalculated number of rows to offset. I just don't know where the "!Production" part of the formula comes into play. There are no worksheets titled production in the Log_Sheet.xls workbook. There is a column with the work Production entered into the first row. However, the values in that column are not the values that appear in the INDEX function.

Thanks!
