After searching I cannot find what I am looking for. So I will ask. I need to add the current user to the footer,
currently we have date time and path. just wanted to add the current user.
problem being IT wont allow macros. so it needs to be done without VBA

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
From the research I have done, it doesn't appear that you can do this.
In order to return the current user, you would need to use a formula (like the ones shown here: How to show current user name in a cell?) or VBA. And it appears that you CANNOT use formulas or cell references in the header/footer sections of Excel.

So it appears to me that the only way to do this is with VBA.
