My goal is to link a button in an excel workbook so that it can only be accessed by the end user. I can not have the vba code in the original file as it somehow conflicts with other workbooks on the users end. I tried to hide the buttons from the user but that is not a option as again it conflicts with another workbook on their end. your help is gratefully appreciated. Thanks

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
You're going to have to create an Excel add-in (xlam). The end users will have to load that manually.
