Can you create a macro which results in the following. When you open a workbook you are prompted to enter a reference. If the person enters "2" and a reference, then the only thing they can amend is row 2. If they enter "3" then they can only amend row 3 and so on and so on.

Is this too much for Excel?? :confused:

Hello,

Put this code in the WORKBOOK CODE window, and see if it any good?

Code:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
ENTRY = InputBox("USER?")
If ENTRY > 0 Then
    Sheets("Sheet1").Unprotect ("abc")
    Cells.Locked = True
    Rows(ENTRY).Select
    Selection.Locked = False
    Selection.FormulaHidden = False
End If
ActiveSheet.Protect ("abc")
End Sub
