Hello All,

I just joined this board and from browsing, it looks as if I found the right place to get some assistance.

Let's say I have a sales order report that lists among other fields, the department # of the customer. For example, if the department # on the report is 555 is it possible to set up a formula or function to look at this value in a different sheet and have the description of the dept id filled in a different cell?

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).

Welcome on board.

You need the VLOOKUP function in Excel.
