I am trying use the "IsBlank" function in VBA but the compiler won't accecpt this as a function. The "IsEmpty" works ok. Why isn't the "IsBlank" function accepted by the VBA compiler?

VBA Code:
Dim a as boolean
a=IsBlank(A1)

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
You're not using a valid range and probably want IsEmpty (IsBlank is a worksheet function) , try...
VBA Code:
a = IsEmpty(Range("A1"))

or

VBA Code:
a = IsEmpty([A1])

or maybe

VBA Code:
a = Len(Range("A1")) = 0
or
VBA Code:
a = Len([A1]) = 0
