I need to remove everything outside the parenthesis and to avoid an error message if a cell is blank.

I've tried the following formula but it doesn't work. What am I missing?

=IF(ISERROR(MID(N6,FIND("(",N6)+1,(FIND(")",N6)-FIND("(",N6))-1)," ",MID(N6,FIND("(",N6)+1,(FIND(")",N6)-FIND("(",N6))-1))

Thanks,

Lenna

Lenna,

If you are using Excel 2003 and require to use ISERROR then....

=IF(ISERROR(MID(N6,FIND("(",N6)+1,(FIND(")",N6)-FIND("(",N6))-1))," ",MID(N6,FIND("(",N6)+1,(FIND(")",N6)-FIND("(",N6))-1))

Otherwise with Excel 2007 onwards use.....

=IFERROR(MID(N6,FIND("(",N6)+1,(FIND(")",N6)-FIND("(",N6))-1),"")

Hope that helps.
