I'm trying to build a formula for the following:

If D2 = any part of H2, ORD
else if D2=N2, WBS
else Not Ready

Here's what I have, that Excel is not happy with. Where am I going wrong?

Excel Formula:
=IF(D2="*"&H2&"*","ORD",IF(D2=N2,"WBS","Not Ready")"Not Ready")

Thanks!

If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Can you show us some examples of what you mean by "D2 is any part of H2"?
Because the way you coded it looks backwards of your description, so I am not sure which one is what you really mean.

Maybe
Excel Formula:
=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(D2,H2)),"ORD",IF(D2=N2,"WBS","Not Ready"))
But like Joe I'm a bit confused by your formula.

Sorry, I started out with a different formula, and I probably didn't evolve it very well. I started using COUNTIF to do this before changing it to just IF and then the double IF.

Anyhow, Fluff's formula is doing exactly what I need it to, so thank you very much!
