Is there a way to make a copy of an open spreadsheet, then modify the copy and finally save it under a different name while not changing the original spreadsheet?

Thanks

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
make your file a template file.
Then when you exit excel, it will as if you want to save what you just did. That is where you save it and name it what you like.

Hi Machael,
Your right it does what I asked for, but not what I needed.

I have a master spreadsheet that I am updating throughtout the day
every couple of hours I save the master to disk, delete unneeded row for the sales department, save it as 'sell.xls' close sell.xls and reopen master.

I was looking for a quicker way to do this in a macro, something like:
Save the master to disk, open a copy and call it sell.xls, make changes to it and save it - all without having to reload the master.

I see:
try searching on this site: SaveCopyAs

This may be exactly what you are looking for.
