I am looking to limit certain cells to accept only values that are negative, including zero. No positive numbers and no apha characters as well. How do I do this? Once I protect the worksheet does that limit the cells as it does for my "locked cells"?

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.

You can do that with data validation.

What version of Excel are you using?

I am using Excel with MS Office Prof 2010. Shows version 14
Ok, that should be the same as it is in Excel 2007...

Select the range of cells in question
Goto the Data tab
In the Data Tools group select Data Validation
Allow: Decimal
Data: Less than or equal to
Maximum: 0
OK out
