Hello,

I can't figure out the following:

I have a list of names as part of a table in Column D:

Ex: Adam, Bob, Cindy, Dave. When I filter out two names, how can I get the name in Cell A1 that is on a different worksheet to show the name that appears the most. For instance, if my filter in Column D shows the name "Adam" 8 times and "Bob" only 4 times, I want Cell A1 to automatically say "Adam."

Any help?

Thanks,

Lecram

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Welcome to MrExcel.

Maybe try:

=INDEX(D2:D32,MATCH(MAX(COUNTIF(D2:D32,IF(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(D2,ROW(D2:D32)-ROW(D2),,1)),D2:D32))),COUNTIF(D2:D32,IF(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(D2,ROW(D2:D32)-ROW(D2),,1)),D2:D32)),FALSE))

confirmed with Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Adjust the range references to suit.
