Hi there,

I have an access database with a linked table called Sales.
The full path is on a network drive:

Z:\Store Data\Sales.xls (sheet name is Sales)

However, other users who need to use the same database cannot use it because their 'Z' drive is different to mine.

Is there any way to link to the file using a relative reference?
I am an access novice, so hopefully I will be able to understand your response!

Thanks,
Frank

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
How about, if in linking the file, you browse to the file going through "My Network Places" instead of using the Mapped drives? That seemed to work in a test I tried.

How are you linking your file to Access?

Wehen you elect to do this, a file browser is usually brought up. After all the drive mappings listed in the file structure tree of this browse box, there is usually an option that says "My Network Places". Browse to the file through here (you will need to know the actual server name).
