Linking Pivot Table Cell directly back to Source Data, rather than entirely new Sheet

Hello!
I am working on a tool that has a "yes" or "no" in the pivot of whether or not an employee has filled out a cell in the source data. I am trying to link it back to the original sheet so the employee can input the info, and thus update and save the pivot (right now it is a "if yes, or if no"). As of now, when the cell is double clicked, it makes a new sheet and any changes an employee makes are not saved in the source data, so the pivot is not updated. Is there a way to:
1. Save the changes in the new sheet, updating the source data and pivot?
2. Double click the yes or no cell on the pivot, and have it highlighted in the sourcedata master sheet?

Thank you!
