how would i link to a cell in another workbook?? i cant get this to work

=INDIRECT("'[Collections KPI.xls]"&L1&"'!$E$10")+INDIRECT("'[Collections KPI.xls]"&L1&"'!$H$10")

This is the formula im useing. it will work fine "if" i have collections KPI.xls open.

I would like to beable to show the value, without haveing the Collections kpi open.

Is is possible?
The location of the KPI file is
O:\Shared Services\Continuous Improvement\Manual Data\KPI's\Collections KPI.xls

You have to use INDIRECT.EXT, which is part of the morefunc add-in (see "recommended add-ins and links" at the top of the Excel Questions Forum)

OK thanks, I used it.. however, all it did was change the result from #REF to #Value

What am I Doing wrong?

=INDIRECT.EXT("'O:\Shared Services\Continuous Improvement\Manual Data\KPI's[Collections KPI.xls]"&K1&"'!$E$10")+INDIRECT.EXT("'O:\Shared Services\Continuous Improvement\Manual Data\KPI's[Collections KPI.xls]"&K1&"'!$H$10")

You're missing a \ between KPI's and [Collections KPI.xls]

Note also that before you were using &L1& and now you're using &K1&
