Hello, I have list of 100 names starting in cell B3, and a list of dates starting in F3, these are on Sheet1.

On a separate sheet, I would like to make a list of all the names that are in the month of January.

Please could someone help with a valid formula? I would like the returned list to not have blank cells in between valid cells if that makes sense.

I am on Office 2019 so no FILTER function.

Please add that to your Account details (click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

How about
Excel Formula:
=IFERROR(INDEX(Sheet1!B:B,AGGREGATE(15,6,ROW(Sheet1!$B$3:$B$100)/(MONTH(Sheet1!$F$3:$F$100)=1)/(Sheet1!$F$3:$F$100<>""),ROWS(A$2:A2))),"")
