I'm trying to get this nested if to work with the above table,

Here are some examples of what should be entered into Column G.
The student from row 7 should have a 5 entered because he's in class 11 and his max is 305.

The student in row 6 should have a 0 entered because he weighs less than 135 AND maxed less than his body weight.

The student in row 8 should have a 1 entered because he weighs less than 135 BUT maxed at least his body weight.

Yes Jason, that's the other part of the problem I've been having. If a kid weighs 200 lbs but only Maxes 140, how does the formula handle it?

Ok, I think I got that bit right in my last reply, by using Sal's Match formula to look at the class / weight score for benching over 135, if the formula can't find a score it's an error, the formula then checks if the lift is less than BW, if it is you score 0, if its the same or more then score 1.

If you post the name of the second sheet with the table, and the correct cell for Class "9" and class 9 "135" then I'll edit the formula to match your sheets so you can copy paste, hopefully then it should work straight off.

shouldn't make a difference, but there should be an option for named ranges in one of the top menu's, it's under the formulas menu on excel 07, but think that will be different if you have an older version.

Found it, IFERROR doesn't work with your version, this also explains why the original formula with the named ranges failed. can be resolved but the formula is a lot longer

It's close. 2 problems, it's entering a 1 for kids who have a 0 as their max and 0 for SOME kids who's max is greater than 135 but is less than their body weight. Here are 2 examples of kids who have a 0 entered when their max is greater than 135 but is less than their body weight, one kid has a body weight (column E) of 163 and a max (column F) of 160, the other kid has a body weight of 159 and a max of 145.

At least two instances of higher body weight than max worked correctly, one had a body weight of 215 and a max of 155, another had a body weight of 183 and a max of 180.
