Hi - I have two columns of data that I report each month - Col A = Staff Name Col B = Course Name

This represents staff who have not completed a course.

I wish to know how many months they have failed to complete the course, for example if they on the list for January, February and March then that would record 3 when I look at March output

You can combine the columns and put the data into a pivot table:
