Afternoon peeps.

I want to look up a name (column D) on another sheet (also column D) and return the personal reference number (both column A). I am using the following but it's not working:
=VLOOKUP($D2,'Original'!$A2:$D8000,1,FALSE)

I've also tried:
=VLOOKUP($D2,'Original'!$A2:$D8000,4,FALSE)

It's returning #N/A, but the name is definitely on the other sheet! What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
You need to use index match like
Excel Formula:
=INDEX(Original!$A2:$A8000,MATCH($D2,Original!$D2:$D8000,0))
