# Looking/Finding data across multiple spreadsheets

Hello. I am having some issues with the following formula. It comes up with #VALUE.

=INDEX(ETN:AAPL!B5,MATCH(TRUE,EXACT(ETN:AAPL!B2,\$C\$2),0))

The gist of what I am trying to do:

If C2 on the first spreadsheet is equal to B2 of another spreadsheet, return the value in B5 of that sheet.

C2 would consist of text, B2 would consist of text, and it would be a numeric value in B5.

### Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
The structure of the match funktion is MATCH(lookup value, lookup array, lookup type) but EXACT(ETN:AAPL!B2,\$C\$2) is not an array but it will just return TRUE or FALSE.

Solution: =IF(ETN:AAPL!B2=C2,ETN:AAPL!B5)

thanks, but that comes back with #REF. Any ideas?

=IF('Sheet 1'!B2=C2,'Sheet 1'!B5,"text")
replace "Sheet 1" by the name of your sheet (as far as I understand you have 2 different sheets)
