I need to link information from one workbook to another workbook. What formula do I use? Example:

Workbook 1 has one worksheet --

Column A has several different client #s (some #s will be repeated in several rows)
Columns B-E has information regarding the clients

Workbook 2 will have a worksheet for each client --

I want Columns A-D to get the information from columns B-E of the first workbook based on the client #

Any help with this would be very appreciated

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Welcome to the board...

to make things MUCH easier, and more efficient, make sure that in Workbook 2, you put each client # in each Sheet Somewhere, not just the name of the tab....Say A1 for example...

Then in A2 of each sheet of workbook 2, you can use this formula to extract the relevant data from Workbook 1

=Vlookup($A$1,'C:\Path\[Book1Name.xls]Sheet1'!$A:$E,Columns($A1:B1),False)
Fill Right to column D

If book 1 is already open at the time you enter the formula, you can drop the path
C:\Path\

Hope this helps..
