Lookup functions

Hello,

I've been searching all over to see if this is possible. I have a large amount of unsorted data. I'm trying to use the lookup function to first find an asset number and once found I'm trying to return the value for a specific period. For example, on the data below, I am trying to return the Oct-11 value for asset number 4037661. Any ideas?

Keep an eye on your date formats too, unless you have specifically set the format, I would expect 11-Jun to be a day - month date not a year- month date as you might think.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that's what I'm trying to stay away from because the report is over 1500 pages long. I pulled the data into excel from a canned report and did a text to columns. Now I'm trying to create a spreadsheet that I can use a pivot table on.
