Hi,

I need to search cells L5:L35 for the text containing "YES" & return the value as a percentage over the number of cells in the range.

Thanks so much for your help!

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
=COUNTIF(L5:L35, "yes")/COUNTA(L5:L35)

Try using the above formula and then formatting the cell to %

Yes.... some have a "-" & some have "NO".

Thanks

Not sure if by "-" you mean empty or litellary "-",
But COUNTA will count only not empty cells.
You may need to add COUNTBLANK or use
=COUNTIF(L5:L35, "yes")/ROWS(L5:L35)

Format as %

Robert,

Thanks as well. Now I know a little bit more the next time around for a different situation. You're the man!
