Macro help needed!!

I cannot figure out how to write a seemingly simple code to:

1. Enable editing
2. Filter column L, if the sheet is not already filtered, such that only these values, if present, are displayed-

start the macro recorder, then do the filtering manually

when done, stop the macro recorder and clean up the resulting code

or post it here and someone will try to clean it up for you
