Recently upgraded to a newer server it has 192 GB ram 24 processors, and excel macro that used to take 4 minutes to run now takes 30-40 minutes,
old OS server OS 2008 R2 48 GB ram 6 processors
new OS server os 2012 R2 192 GB ram 24 processors.

the macro copies data from one sheet to another constantly switching back and forth between the 2 workbooks.

i use 2010 (64 bit) excel as it is much more stable that 2013 ( 64 bit version )
thoughts?

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
Version 2012 is stupid slow! I have a simple sheet which is populated with do loops (I know) that find a string in a column in another sheet then populates cells on the main sheet. The Macro runs fine in version 1902, less than 0.3 seconds but V2012 takes more than 15 seconds to run the same darn code?!? I don't get it! The version is so darn slow AND unstable that after running for 10 minutes the Excel crashes then restarts! Whats up with Microsoft?

I ended up downgrading to v1902 or earlier but now I am wondering if Microsoft is going to make anything mildly complex or intensive obsolete - as in De-evolution?
